Spending your dollars on what?
TRACKING YOUR TAXES: Government watchdogs go after National Endowment for the Humanities for spending millions on such projects as studying 'truth and meaning' of life according to Aristotle, which cost $130G.
And two reasons why
For the first time in some years, likely voters trust Republicans more than Democrats on all ten major issues in the Rasmussen survey. On five issues the Republican lead is double digits:

Barack Obama sweeps into MIT in MA to give a speech about Global Warming. Never mind that snowstorm we had 5 days ago
Obama regulatory Czar would like to abolish the institution of marriageWhy WH attacks Fox and today’s broadside
And there is this
The White House is punishing Fox News for… being ahead of the NYT:
The spur: Executives at other news organizations, including The New York Times, had publicly said that their newsrooms had not been fast enough in following stories that Fox News, to the administration’s chagrin, had been heavily covering through the summer and early fall — namely, past statements and affiliations of the White House adviser Van Jones that ultimately led to his resignation and questions surrounding the community activist group Acorn.
Media Matters coordinates campaign against 'lethal' Fox
An official at a Democratic-leaning organization sends on a memo the group Media Matters is circulating today to progressive groups, calling Fox "a lethal 24/7 partisan political operation" and rallying a coalition of groups to join the White House assault on the network.
"The danger to progressive causes and the institution of journalism has become too significant to ignore," says the introduction to a memo by Media Matters founder David Brock. "At Media Matters, we believe it is of paramount importance that progressive leaders have the information necessary to understand exactly what Fox News has become. We hope this brief memorandum will assist you in reaching your own decision on how best to engage this threat."
That is a very large credit
Colorado Tesla Buyers Get $42,000 Tax Credit
To encourage residents to buy cars with less emissions, Colorado is offering huge tax credits on such vehicles. The biggest winner is the Tesla Roadster, which comes with a $42,000 credit. How cheap is it after the rebate?
The final price, after the tax credit, is a relatively low $67,800 (relative to the 110K starting price). This

Obama’s Enemies List. “We have seen from this White House Nixonian tendencies and, it would appear, a burning anger and resentment toward its critics. . . The Obama White House is showing a fondness for intimidation tactics that might work well in the wards of Chicago but that don’t have a place in the most important and revered political institution in America. To see these impulses manifest themselves so early in Obama’s presidency, and given all that he has said to the contrary, is rather startling. The danger is that as the pressures mount and the battles accrue and the political heat intensifies, these impulses will grow stronger, the constraints on them will grow weaker, and the voices of caution and reason will continue to be ignored.

The Press beat the White House

The Obama administration on Thursday failed in its attempt to manipulate other news networks into isolating and excluding Fox News, as Republicans on Capitol Hill stepped up their criticism of the hardball tactics employed by the White House.

The Obama administration on Thursday tried to make “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the White House pool except Fox News. The pool is the five-network rotation that for decades has shared the costs and duties of daily coverage of the presidency.
But the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks consulted and decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included.
The administration relented, making Feinberg available for all five pool members and Bloomberg TV.

The Washington Post reports on the success achieved in Helmand province over the past three months since Marines poured into the area and began waging war in the manner prescribed in Gen. McChrystal. According to the Post, in the district of Nawa, troop strength increased from 100 to 1,000 and our forces concentrated on improving security for the local population instead of chasing the Taliban. Since then, the area has been transformed:
[T]he school has reopened, the district governor is on the job and the market is bustling. The insurgents have demonstrated far less resistance than U.S. commanders expected. Many of the residents who left are returning home, their possessions piled onto rickety trailers, and the Marines deem the central part of the town so secure that they routinely walk around without body armor and helmets.
Is Unknown Force In Universe Acting On Dark Matter? How did George Lucas know?

Hongsheng Zhao of the SUPA Centre of Gravity, University of St. Andrews, suggests that an unknown force is acting on dark matter. The findings are published this week in the scientific journal Nature.
Only 4% of the universe is made of known material. Stars and gas in galaxies move so fast that astronomers have speculated that the gravity from a hypothetical invisible halo of dark matter is needed to keep galaxies together. However, a solid understanding of dark matter as well as direct evidence of its existence has remained elusive.

A White House effort to undermine conservative critics is generating a backlash on Capitol Hill — and not just from Republicans.
“It’s a mistake,” said Rep. Jason Altmire, a moderate Democrat from western Pennsylvania. “I think it’s beneath the White House to get into a tit for tat with news organizations.”
Altmire was talking about the Obama administration’s efforts to undercut Fox News. But he said his remarks applied just the same to White House efforts to marginalize the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a powerful business lobby targeted for its opposition to climate change legislation.

- Social Security was established in 1935,"you have had 74 years to get it right" and it is broke.

- Freddie Mac was established in 1970," you have had 39 years to get it right" and it is broke.
- The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil, it has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before, "you had 32 years to get it right" and it is an abysmal failure.

What do we want in a President? We want a President with flaws and charm. But do we want "Clean up in the Oval office" flaws?
No. We want simple flaws, like tripping down the stairs of Air Force 1. We can learn to appreciate and value jumbled speech, accompanied by a real man who appreciates sacrifice.
We don't mind being called 'darlin', but we do mind sterile robotic responces, from a man of priviledge who has never been called upon to make a real sacrifice.
We want a real man who demonstrates real character in the real world, in the real oval, that has come to represent our beautiful democracy.
