'I Don't Care Hair'...From Paris

The caption read: "How to pull off I don't care hair."
I remember this "style" from the 70's. My mother gently chiding me, saying "When your hair looks a mess like that, people will assume you don't have a mother."

THE $150 SANDWICH!

The delicacy was created by celebrity chef Martin Blunos, who hand-crafted the luxury snack using cheddar blended with expensive white truffles.

It is dressed with 100-year-old balsamic vinegar and the sourdough bread - which costs £5 alone - is sprinkled with powdered E175. That's gold dust to you and me.

Terror chief tells of 9/11 West Wing terror on ninth anniversary

The terrorism chief who was running the White House situation room on September 11, 2001, has told for the first time how his staff tried to phone home after being told as many as 11 hijacked aircraft could be heading for the West Wing.

Smoke cloud left by United Flight 93

The passengers on board United Flight 93 fought back against the hijackers and the plane crashed in Pennsylvania, 10 to 20 minutes before it would have hit the White House

Richard Clarke, who was President Bush's Counter-Terrorism Coordinator, said he and around a dozen colleagues left in the White House thought they were going to die as unaccounted for aircraft – including one that was hijacked – flew towards the capital.

"We reduced the staff down to a very small number out of the thousands that work in the White House. We were all very clear we might not make it out," he told The Daily Telegraph.

One of the staff, Frank Miller, got the others in the West Wing to sign a list and then emailed it out of the building so that rescuers would know how many bodies they were looking for if the aircraft struck the White House.

Mr Clarke said a US Army engineering unit was based outside Washington with plans of the building and GPS coordinates ready to dig through the rubble.

"If that aircraft had hit the White House, the building would have been demolished and that would have been very symbolic but Dick Cheney was in a bomb shelter and he would probably have survived and been dug out."

Ignoring Bad Behavior...From Paris

When my children were toddlers, the occasional tantrum appeared. The most powerful deterrent? I ignored it; I walked away. When the audience disappeared, so did the tantrum.
I don't understand all the energy spent on the 'pastor' who is threatening bad behavior. Why is the President directly involving himself? Networks are giving major air time, and commentators are consumed.
Ignoring bad behavior will be a more powerful deterrent than thousands of cameras focused on a pathetic little FL man with the sad little following. Let's not give the little man any reason to prove anything.

Ancient, abandoned Great Wall of Peru ringed an elaborate stone city

Kuelap, in Peru, boasts an ancient mountain fortress surrounded by a massive stone wall. It's at the center of a once-thriving metropolis, abandoned half a millennium ago. The stone ruin remains a mystery - but now you can visit it

Then and Now

Then:

The minute the president signs [the Obamacare] bill, his approval will go up. Within a year, when the good things begin to happen, and the bad things they’re saying will happen don’t happen, approval will explode.”

Now:

A total of 279 House and Senate Democrats voted for ObamaCare. Not one is running an ad touting that vote. How can they, given headlines about Medicare cuts and premium hikes?

O still thinks a Ground Zero Mosque is a good idea.

We all understood that, notwithstanding President Obama's slight walk-back from his initial supportive stance on building the Ground Zero Mosque, he wants the mosque built at the proposed location. Today, at his press conference, Obama pretty much said so:

If we say that their religion is somehow offensive . . . what are we saying to them? I've got Muslims fighting in the uniform of the armed services of the United States. They're putting their lives on the line for us.

How to think rich

How Rich People Think. Some of those differences include:

* Middle class focuses on saving. World class focuses on earning.
* Middle class believes hard work creates wealth. World class believes leverage creates wealth.
* Middle class believes money is earned through labor. World class believes money is earned through thought.
* Middle class worries about running out of money. World class thinks about how to make more money.
* Middle class sees money through the eyes of emotion. World class sees money through the eyes of logic.
* Middle class believes getting rich is outside their control. World class knows getting rich is an inside job.
* Middle class has a lottery mentality. World class has an action mentality
* Middle class is waiting to be rescued from financial mediocrity. World class knows no one is coming to the rescue.
* Middle class equates money with stress. World class equates money with peace of mind.

This is who they are

Sebelius: insurers who criticize ObamaCare may get locked out of system

“Shut up,” she explained.

THUGGERY: Sebelius: insurers who criticize ObamaCare may get locked out of system. “Rarely have we heard a Cabinet official tell Americans to stay out of political debates at the risk of losing their businesses. It points out the danger in having government run industries and holding a position where politicians can actually destroy a business out of spite. It also demonstrates the thin skin of our current administration, where Hope and Change means keeping your mouth shut and pretending that everyone is happy while businesses slowly circle the drain.”

41 Obama White House aides owe the IRS $831,000 in back taxes -- and they're not alone

Democrat president Barack Obama addresses his staff in the Oval Office-file

Over the years a lot of suspicion has built up across the country about Washington and its population of opportunistic transients coming to see themselves as a special kind of person, somehow above average working Americans who don't work down in that former swamp.

Well, finally, an end to all those undocumented doubts. Thanks to some diligent digging by the Washington Post, those suspicions can at last be put to rest.

They're correct. Accurate. Dead-on. Laser-guided. On target. Bingo-bango. As clear as it's always seemed to those Americans who don't feel special entitlements and do meet their government obligations.

We now know that federal employees across the nation owe fully $1 billion in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.  As of the end of 2009, 41 people inside Obama's very own White House owe the government they're allegedly running a total of $831,055 in back taxes.

China's UN diplomat in drunken rant against Americans

China's top-ranking UN diplomat embarked on a drunken rant against the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, telling his boss he'd "never liked" him, and adding for good measure that he didn't like Americans either.

Sha, who was appointed the UN undersecretary general for Economic and Social Affairs in 2007, also made no secret of his fractious relationship with Mr Ban, although did say he'd grown to respect the South Korean.

"You've been trying to get rid of me," said 62-year-old Mr Sha according to the senior UN official present, "You can fire me anytime, you can fire me today."

Later in his impromptu speech Mr Sha turned to an American colleague, singling out Bob Orr, from the executive office of the secretary-general.

"I really don't like him: he's an American and I really don't like Americans," he said.

A second senior UN official who was at the dinner said: "It went on for about ten or fifteen minutes but it felt like an hour."

Our Debt Is More Than All the Money in the World

Just a reminder: We are in trouble.

I have argued that the real national debt is about $130 trillion. Let’s say I’m being pessimistic. Forbes, in a 2008 article, came up with a lower number: $70 trillion. Let’s say the sunny optimists at Forbes got it right and I got it wrong.

For perspective: At the time that 2008 article was written, the entire supply of money in the world (“broad money,” i.e., global M3, meaning cash, consumer-account deposits, checkable accounts, CDs, long-term deposits, travelers’ checks, money-market funds, the whole enchilada) was estimated to be just under $60 trillion. Which is to say: The optimistic view is that our outstanding obligations amount to more than all of the money in the world.

Another Democrat Congressman Gave Scholarship Money to Relatives!

The culture of entitlement on Capitol Hill is well illustrated by the news that Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, Democrat of Texas, not only steered Congressional Black Caucus scholarship money to two of her grandsons and two of her great-nephews, but asked that the checks be sent directly to her relatives instead of to the schools.

Johnson represents a supremely Democratic district — D+23 in the Cook Partisan Voting Index — and thus is unlikely to see severe repercussions at the ballot box for this scandal.

But Georgia Democrat Sanford Bishop might. “Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) awarded three scholarships from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to his stepdaughter and wife’s niece between 2003 and 2005, according to records from the non-profit group.”

O’s Program Worked! From Jody

Some have said that the stimulus hasn't saved any jobs, but here is a case where at least one job was saved.

Take for instance Oregon State University Athletic Director Bob DeCarolis.

clip_image002

Now Mr. DeCarolis was considering firing their Basketball Coach.......Craig Robinson

clip_image003

after an 8 -11 start (2-5) in the Pac 10 conference).

When word reached Washington, Undersecretary of Education Martha Kanter

clip_image004

was dispatched to Corvallis with $17 million in stimulus money for the university. Thankfully, Craig Robinson's job is safe for another year

clip_image005

Now comes the interesting part of our story....

For those of you unfamiliar with

Coach Robinson,

clip_image006

he just so happens to be the brother in law of none other than our country's beloved President,

clip_image007

NOW YOU’RE CATCHING ON......

that's right he is the brother of Michelle Obama!

clip_image008

But hey, can't we all come to the conclusion that Coach Robinson's job security was all just a coincidence?

I'm sure of it! Aren't You?

Thank Goodness For The Stimulus!!!
